Internships at Yule Love It Lavender Farm
If you love the scent of lavender and learning about farming, this
internship is for you! Iris is looking for folks thirsting to learn the
fragrant business of growing lavender and the herb's culinary,
horticultural, medicinal and aromatic benefits.
The internship involves potting plugs
and propagation in the greenhouse early April; planting lavender in the
field in May; pruning, watering, feeding, weeding in May; logging plant
varieties and growth throughout the summer; harvesting and bundling
lavender in June and July; delivering value-added product and fresh
lavender orders to markets; assisting with farm tours, teas and sales in
the Gift Shoppe; assisting with local farmers markets; and hosting
special events.
You will also learn how to build an
agribusiness by following a business plan, and in the process how to
establish a small farm. You will obtain valuable network and marketing
resources to operate an organic farm. You will learn to host public
events according to local and state ordinances and policies. Interns
will also take field trips to observe other farm operations.
E-mail Iris for further
information.
